Fire Fighting & turning 21
My little brother turned 21 this past weekend and for such a momentous occasion I knew I needed to make him a great cake. I chose a devil's food cake (triple chocolate) and made a vanilla buttercream for filling. Then my good friend took me to the Cake Carousel in Richardson and found fondant made by Satin Ice. It was so much easier than making my own and tasted pretty great. My family loved the cake and my brother really did. He's not so easy to impress, so it was quite the task. Check out the pictures & let me know what you think.

Pretty in Pink.
I baked a lot these past two weeks, but kept forgetting my camera cord to update the blog with photos. So i emailed myself the most recent photo from my phone. This is the cake I made for a bachelorette party last night. The cake recipie was called the "perfect party cake" and tastes similar to angel food cake, but with a hint of lemon. The fondant was homemade and used gelatin and glucose. It turned out pretty well. I'm happy with my first round for both recipies. The girls at the party loved it as well!

Welcome!
Welcome to The Cake Snob blog. Basically this is a blog about cakes I love, cakes and other baked goods I make. Eventually I hope this blog will lead into a business, but we'll see. Just enjoy the cakes and the journey. Here's one of my favorite cake decorators from Dallas, Bronwen Weber...she's awesome! Check her out!http://www.frostedart.com/
