Mavs Cake, Penguins (#2), and Valentine's Day Cupcakes

I have definitely been a busy lady. Recently it was my husband's 24th birthday, so i decided to make a cake that reflected one of his greatest loves: The Dallas Mavericks. I made a Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cake with cream cheese filling and covered in fondant. It was hit both in looks and taste!

Then it was time to make another batch of cupcakes from Hello, Cupcake. This time it was the penguins, which by the way is my husband's favorite animal. Again, i had to adapt the recipe a bit...it was hard to find a few of the items needed. These little cuties are vanilla cupcakes with a chocolate mini doughnut, covered with vanilla frosting, dipped in dark chocolate frosting...pretty much a heart attack in a
cupcake liner.

Finally, I made Pre-Valentine's Day cupcakes, they were the leftover vanilla cupcakes. This time I covered the with chocolate frosting and sprinkles, then took red chocolate melts, cut a hole in the bag drew hearts and love on wax paper. They made them super cute and I'm hoping to make a few for the big VDay coming up!

Love these too! I actually had thought about how perfect those little penguins would be for Kyle's birthday! So wish I could have eaten one! :)
