Easter Spring Cake!

On Sunday my family all gathered out my house for our annual Easter Desserts party. Everyone brings something sweet and we overdose on sugar. This year I made a pink lemonade cake with lemonade frosting. It had a light sweetness and very refreshing. It was a little denser than I expected, but still great. And I just had to decorate it with a spring theme and flowers seemed to fit the best!

Birthday Present for a Birthday Celebration

This cake was made for another customer who wanted a cake for her office's quarterly birthday celebration. She asked for something gender neutral, but birthday oriented. So I came up with this chocolate cake with chocolate frosting (with cut up strawberries as well) and wrapped it up in light blue! I also bought a fondant imprinter to add a little texture to the cake.

Eagle Scout Cake & Cookies

This was a big project from a couple of weekends ago. A teenager at my church received his Eagle Scout award and his mom asked me to make a cake and cookies for the celebration. She also sent me a couple of great pictures from the event to use on this very blog!

One of my favorite parts of this cake is the hand sculpted eagle in the center. I also used fondant on the sugar cookies (again) and added gum paste banners with each of the characteristics of a Boy Scout.
