This might be my favorite type of cake to do these days, the 40th birthday ones. People usually want something really fun or cute. This particular 40th birthday cake was for one of my frequent customers. It was a surprise cake (her husband ordered it for her).
I did a similar style to my last 40th birthday cake, but added the heart as a fun touch. Also this birthday girl preferred maroon and white to pink and black (my husband would say gig 'em).
I also made 10 mini cupcakes alongside the large 10inch cake. Which made the whole set of cake and cupcakes look even cuter!
